Dark-skinned Beauties

Hello world,

If you know me, then you know I absolutely cannot stand color struck black folk. In fact, I abhor them. That’s one reason I’m getting the fuck out of the South. I love to peruse black gossip blogs, trash that they are. As much as I enjoy those trashy, filthy, disgusting sites, I’ve noticed that many of the visitors often leave comments that betray a color struck mentality. One popular shred of nonsense that is often perpetuated on those sites (and the black community at large) is that there is no such thing as a pretty dark-skinned woman. *Sigh* I really feel for the sick individuals that make these comments.  They’re delusional and brainwashed to the point of requiring psychiatric care. Also, they’ve obviously never met my mother, a dark-skinned woman who has NEVER wanted for attention from men.

All that being said, I decided to post some pics of dark-skinned women that will obviously put these color struck clowns to shame. And by the way, I don’t have a problem with anybody who may have a preference for lighter skinned individuals. My vitriol is directed at that special brand of black people that think that dark-skinned equals ugly. Anyway, enjoy :)

  1. These are all gorgeous women…but ah..where the MENZ at? There are some very sexy dark-skin men too.

  2. Yes! Where are the men?? And i totally understand where you are coming from. Seems to happen a lot in our community. This idea that light-skin is the right-skin. But i try not to blame them. This mentality is a product of living it and being influenced by the white majority.

lol….You are completely right. I blame the media

  4. Its everywhere(I’m here in NY). I have a friend from one of old jobs up here with serious problems. She praises everything thats light skinned with green eyes, etc. Sometimes the people she describes aren’t light. They are just lighter than she is. One of her sisters has got than same issue. The sad part is that she will probably pass that mess on to her daughter which upsets me.

Another somebody tried to joke on several occasions about me looking like a slave. I had to cuss them out and be prepared for that next round so i can knock that ignorance right out.People like that upset me as well to point that I want to split a few wigs.

P.S. a classic picture of lauren hill always shuts em up ; )

  5. Thanks for this post! I’m not sure if people automatically assume people with light skin are superior to dark skin(some unconscious psychological mechanism), or if the majority of dark-skinned people have simply internalised a slight feeling of inferiority, because the white western shades of beauty are the ones we see most often hailed in magazines and on TV. I am a shade of dark brown, and I’ve felt always felt less pretty than my lighter counterparts…However, i’ve often been called beautiful by members of other races (I’m South Indian). However, the most common thing I heard while growing up, from people of my own community was ‘she’s pretty for a dark girl’ …No wonder my self esteem has taken a bit of a knock due to skin colour!
